ICT PROGRAM

What are the main purposes of the program?
The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) program provides both an increase in the computer literacy of our children and the chance to utilise the limitless capabilities of computers as teaching, learning and administrative tools. In order to achieve this, our computer program is directed towards the use of computers in a diverse way and across all curriculum areas.
The computer lab classes are planned to specifically to integrate ICT with other curriculum areas such as Literacy, Mathematics and The Humanities.
The school’s laptop program complements the classroom curriculum, allowing the students and teachers to learn how ICT can benefit their understanding of Literacy, Mathematics and Integrated Studies.

 How is the program structured?
Lab: Each grade is assigned a 45-minute lesson per week in the computer lab for three terms.
Laptop Program: Each grade is allocated, on average, 1 full day per term with the laptops. This allows for an extra 20 hours of dedicated ICT-focused learning per student per year.

Who is involved?

The school has 2 full-time dedicated ICT teachers. Mr Mathew Anderton is responsible for the laptop program and Mrs Jo Emptage teaches specialist computer classes.
