All classes at Courtenay Gardens Primary School follow the structure of our whole-school instructional model. This model is based on the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM 2.0), Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS) outlined by the Department of Education, the context of our school and the needs of our students.
The Courtenay Gardens Primary School instructional model has been designed to allow for consistent and collaborative instruction across classes. It is designed to structure each lesson into a series of learning stages, enrich the learning experience to engage all students and differentiate teaching to cater for the diverse range of students in every class.
The instructional model supports both staff and students with a common language and a common framework for learning. It guides students and teachers through the learning process, while still allowing for individual learning and teaching styles in the classroom.
